murder isn't just a music producer and entrepreneur he's also something of a social media personality with a huge following on Instagram the massive following meant he could charge a lot of money for promotions on his account he had around 300 000 followers and could easily rely on the account for necessary income that night Murda kept an eye on the front door watching for any threats but

he was being threatened by obn a mysterious figure who was known for getting Instagram accounts banned the threat wasn't going to come from someone showing up at murda's house before long obn made good on his threats and got murder's account shut down an investigation by the online website probe publica unraveled the entire business model of obn Brandon the self-declared master of banning and unbanning Instagram accounts

the investigation found that obn who also goes by OB and Brandon has prompted meta to ban an array of influencers and entertainers interestingly obn is pretty vocal about his business too in an article he wrote for facts.com last year he called himself the log out king because he could get meta to ban the accounts of multiple celebrities and influencers he says he has made over three

hundred thousand dollars from getting meta to ban and unban accounts he uses several strategies to take down his victims one of his methods to take down an account was by accusing it of impersonating another account to do this obn would get hold of a verified account this account could be a hacked one or one he has access to then he would change the name and profile

picture of the verified account to one he wanted to get banned then he would report the account he's targeting as an impersonator of the verified profile since meta doesn't do extensive checks on this sort of case they would ban the account without knowing that it's a scam since much of meta's customer support infrastructure is automated having an army of bots means that obn could easily get

meta to flag certain accounts when accounts have a number of flags they automatically get removed asides from using Bots obn also claims to have connections to actual staff of Instagram he says he can get some accounts banned by searching for suspicious articles about them online and forwarding those articles to his contacts his contact would then find a way to ban the account he also claims that

he can use this same route to unban accounts since he has a personal relationship with these employees at meta obn and other scammers like him don't Target all accounts instead they go for people who have vulnerable accounts because their content verges on nudity and adult content this means that most of the victims of these scams are lifestyle influencers rappers and only fan models obn targeted the

money making vehicle of his victims murder one of obn's victims was making about twenty thousand dollars per month through his Instagram account that rounds up to about two hundred and forty thousand dollars per year it's easy to think of obn as just a random nerd hacking into people's accounts and Reporting them to meta but that's not the role he plays the videos and pictures he releases

online show him wearing expensive watches and even driving a white Lamborghini he's quite knowledgeable about the entertainment scene so he knows who the up-and-coming celebrities and entertainers are some of these people include podcast hosts and c-list rappers and those are the type of people who are especially attractive targets for him obn doesn't have a standardized fee structure but according to reports he charges as high as

five thousand dollars to reactivate accounts he got banned but once the fee gets paid obn ensnares his victim further by getting the account banned again this kicks off a cycle of bands and reactivation that continues until the victim runs out of money despite meta knowing about obn scam the company has put very little public effort into stopping the grift the police too have done very little

to track obn down despite getting several complaints from his victims to show just how Invincible he was obn decided to post an email from the Las Vegas Police Department that showed that he had met the requirements to continue applying to be a police cadet it was like he was taunting his victims by applying to join the police force despite the illegal nature of his business obn

was telling them that he was so untouchable that he could join the police and nothing would happen the most shocking thing about OB in is that despite having a larger than life online personality no one knows anything about him he's as close to a ghost as you can get in today's digital world where everyone has a footprint no one even knows if obn is one person

or a group however investigations by propublica have revealed that obn might not be as Invincible as he thought he was they might even just have revealed his identity or at least that of someone close to him the person in question is Edwin Reyes Martinez numerous Clues connect obn to Martinez for one Martinez is the owner of the bank account obn told several of his victims to

send money to he also told them to pay him via an email address that had Martinez's name that email address also partially matched the redacted email address that was on the police cadet email that obn had posted to Mock's victims a similar string of letters that were the same as his email appear in a Twitter username that account Bears Martinez's name and has photos taken inside

a white Lamborghini although the videos and pictures don't show the driver's face the driver is wearing a gold ring that resembles that worn by Reyes Martinez on his Facebook account another Facebook picture from the same account shows Reyes Martinez posing in front of a white Lamborghini that's quite similar to the one that obn claims to drive eventually Reyes Martinez was tracked down to a physical location

and it appeared that obn lives with his mom when he was interviewed by a journalist on the trail of the story Martinez denied any knowledge of knowing obn however when he was shown evidence of collecting thousands of dollars for obn through his bank accounts he came clean Reyes Martinez told the reporter that someone named Brandon had asked him to funnel money through his bank account to

unknown recipients to prove that he wasn't obn Martinez argued that his hands showed that he was a hard worker and that if he were obn he wouldn't be working at all that would have been a convincing argument if the reporter were a 10 year old obn isn't some Superior whiz kid that can just trigger bands whenever he feels like it he needs meta to do the

heavy lifting for him either by triggering their automated systems or by contacting an employee at the company to do his dirty work this means that he has extensive connections inside meta itself one good example is how he knew or instigated the Banning of another Instagram user known as Joey Hixson Hixson was one of the earliest social media influencers and built a living off creating Meme and

lifestyle pages with millions of followers Hixson had done business with obn before and had paid him to help get certain users verified and others get names they wanted after initially cooperating and delivering for Hixson obn suddenly switched and started threatening to take down hixson's accounts he then posted a cryptic message to Hixson asking him to enjoy his cease and desist letter from Instagram this got Hickson

worried so he decided to check his mail and right there was an email from a law firm on behalf of meta asking him to cease and desist from using Instagram that day all of his accounts were banned once Hixson got the letter obn started bragging about it on his telegram Channel he kept saying that he was the one behind the letter and had gotten meta to

ban Hixson because Hixson had allegedly stolen twenty thousand dollars from obn's messages on the channel insinuated that he could get anyone banned if he felt like it but obn didn't stop there he then tried to convince Hixson that he could get the cease and desist reversed if he were paid fifteen thousand dollars he said that the letter was a result of an impersonator creating damaging content

in hixson's name and then reporting the post to meta obian told Hickson that since he knew the law firm meta was using and the lawyer in charge of the case he would simply tell her that the accounts and posts were falsely made to frame Hixson meta however had something different to say about the matter when contacted for comments meta said hickson's accounts were justifiably shut down

because of multiple infractions another victim of obn's hacking and banning is Miami real estate agent and model K Jenkins Jenkins Instagram account had over one hundred thousand followers and she used to earn about twenty thousand dollars per month funneling people from Instagram over to her only fan subscriptions and also making sponsor posts on her IG account after Jenkins moved from Utah to Miami her account got

banned several times this happened to both her main Instagram account and the other account she used for her life coaching business months after her accounts got banned Jenkins learned about what happened by chance she went on the popular fresh and fit podcast where she met Selena Powell Powell was also a celebrity and worked as an only fan model she had risen to Fame by claiming to

have had intimate relationships with popular celebs like Drake and Snoop Dogg before the podcast Howell had given obn a shout out on her account and said he helped her with Instagram services and anything that had to do with Banning and unbanning accounts after the podcast she rode the elevator with Jenkins and then started making a call on the call Powell spoke about getting someone's account unbanned

Jenkins heard this and asked if Powell could get her account unbanned as well Powell said yes she could because she was the one who got it banned in the first place her reason was that Jenkins had danced with her ex-boyfriend at a Miami club and the ban was payback Jenkins was a bit hopeful that if Powell was the one who got the account down she could

who helped him with Banning and unbanning accounts interestingly he forgot to redact the name and profile picture of this high-level operative obn told her that she needed to pay him five thousand dollars to get her account unbanned Jenkins saw no way out of her predicament and decided to pay the five thousand dollars her account briefly came back online but it was swiftly taken down by meta
