Leslie run meanders to the west and then down south the V East Palastino Highell. The past running stream is Tim and Carrie workman's back yards. It's beautiful here in the summer. Even in the winter when the snow is on the trees and you've got the law, it's beautiful. The couple have made this land home for 40 years. The Norfolk Southern rail disaster and the poisonous pollutants
from it have them wondering if they can stay. We planned on living here till we die. My family lived my grandparents lived Cady Corner across the road when I was a child. My aunt lives across the road. Dangerous chemicals inside the rail cars like vinyl chloride burned or spilled onto the land and nearby creeks. The damage spreading. The couple find evidence days after dead fish. But
some of them were probably five to six inches long. A lot of men. The thing to concern me a lot was the fact that the entire bank was was where the water met the bank. It was just lined with earthworms dead. While the village's municipal water supply has been deemed safe to drink, the workmen have a private well. State officials say those kinds of wells need
to be separately tested, which Ohio is doing. Unsure if their own supply is truly drinkable, they're thinking of buying a home filtration system. These are the conductive materials basically inside of most common water. The rail company CEO visited East Palestine on Saturday telling other news media that he was there to quote support the community. As I understand the CEO of Norfolk Southern was here yesterday, his
entourage was here. Did you happen to Sam? Did he come up? He hides from everybody. So he didn't come by and say hello to you. No, and he knows what's going on here. He knows it's serious. Despite the assurances about their water supply, many in the town of 4,700 preferred bottled water out of town. Volunteers handed out cases of water to those who asked. And we
bought a bunch of water and we're just out here passing it out today. Many people aren't reassured about the rail company's cleanup efforts. Do something. Tell us the truth. That's all. Just tell us the truth. That's all we want to know. For the town, it's wait and see. Leslie Run was beautiful until they got contaminated. If they truly know if home is safe or a risk
to their health.
