gather data from dozens of studies that send resumes to employers which unbeknownst to them these resumes are actually fabricated to test their discrimination and these resumes are identical with one key difference some of them carry a name that is stereotypical of a minoritized group and others the name from the majority group and it's no surprise especially to those in from for minoritized groups that the lakeishas

and tyrones and alejandros actually get fewer callback invitations what is striking is that I'm actually able to predict the likelihood of somebody getting a call back by asking independent Raiders one question how warm and how competent does this name seem to the average American War meaning good-natured and friendly competent meaning uh capable and efficient and for every bump in warmth the chances of somebody getting hired

hiring practices should be more transparent and perhaps group information should be removed from initial stages of hiring effectively uh Intergroup contact and experience should reduce and change stereotypes so that whether your name is 28 or three characters we have the same chance of achieving our goals foreign
