Zachary rolfe's right to remain silent dismissed a panel of Judges today finding the ex-territry police officer can be forced to front an inquest into the death of kumonjai Walker in yondamu in 2019 few words from his lawyer leaving the Darwin Courthouse this morning review the decision and go from there last year Mr Rolfe was found not guilty of all charges relating to the death of the
19 year old indigenous man who he fatally shot during an arrest attempt following his trial and extensive Colonial inquest has sought to examine the systemic issues which led to Mr Walker's death speaking with Witnesses from the streets of Alice Springs to Mr Walker's home community of yondamu but so far Mr Rolf has declined to answer most questions claiming he had a legal right not to do
so over several matters including earlier use of force incidents in court his lawyer had argued those questions risked his client facing discipline reaction from his then employer the NT police today the NT court of appeal dismissed Mr rolf's challenge meaning the former Constable can be called to take the stand if coronal inquest hearings resume as scheduled in October this year but there's still a chance for
