You're listening to the only place on the internet that offers the perfect blend of high-quality premium cigars and cryptocurrency news and commentary. Welcome to cigars and crypto. Now here's your host, Invest Noir. Greetings, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to this episode of cigars and crypto. You know who an easy should boy Noir let me tell you. I am always happy to have my friends from the Noir
Coin team join me, but I'm especially happy today because today I am with my friend Flo. He's the lead developer for Noir Coin. Flo, how are you, sir? Hi, I'm fine. Thank you. How are you? Well, my friend, I can act a plane. It's been a pretty good day. I woke up early, got some things done around the house. I didn't work too much today. I
wanted to take today as a rest day. So I had a cigar and some coffee this morning. So I'm feeling quite good right now. So I can't complain. That's great. I also got up early today. I did some things on the car. It needed some fixes and I cleaned it. Yeah. It was a pretty productive day. Okay. That sounds good, man. That sounds good. So you
don't normally join me, but when you do join me, you always say something that's mind blowing and earth shattering to me from the technical side of the development for Noir Coin. So tell me what's going on. What's new with Noir? Well, we have several new things. First thing. We started the testnet for the swap. This is right now in the face of swapping from the old
chain to the new chain. Seems pretty good right now. We have a few users that already tested this for process. Seems fine. Until now. We found a little bug. In the process that's already fixed. Okay. But that's what the testing phase is for. Finding bugs and fixing them. Exactly, my friend. So for my listeners who do not remember, Noir is swapping chains. And they're doing this
because they want to have a nice clean code. And they want to be able to provide users with a beautiful user. And they want to have a nice clean code. So let me dig into that. Just a little bit. I know that the bug has been fixed and you guys are fixing that and you're in the testing phase. If people wanted to participate in testing, how
would they do that? Right now. People can try and testing the new core wallet. They just need to come to a discord. Download the latest release of the new core wallet. You can test it on Windows, Mac and Linux and also Android mobile phones. Okay. Cool. So there is a new core wallet out there for people to use. Now, will this new core wallet work with
the existing chain? Will my coins still be in this new coin core wallet? Or will I have to keep the old wallet and then download the new wallet to test? You will have to keep the. Old core wallet because you have the your coins in the main net right now. And that's not swapping right now. Okay. You would still have to download the new core wallet.
And. Yeah. There you would get new test coins. Got you totally understand. So refresh my memory. Other than the. The clean code right. The enhanced user experience. What will we be able to do differently by swapping to the new chain as a user? A main benefit will be if you use the core wallet, you will not need to wait 24 or more hours to completely sync
the blockchain. Because it's not. That long yet and also because the new core wallet, it's based on Bitcoin core order 20. And it's much more optimized than the old one we used before. So it seems much faster. Now, that is a great distinction. You know, one of the things that I don't like about downloading new blockchains to my computers, because I'm a big fan of. Having
core wallets on my machine as opposed to using lightweight wallets or custodial wallets is how long it takes to download the blockchain. Like I have a computer that I'm using right now. And I've been downloading the Bitcoin core wallet and syncing the blockchain for more than a week. And that that's, you know, that's a little annoying. So to hear that I'll be able to download the
new work going blockchain faster than I did the first core round, which was already fast. I think is amazing. And I think that's really, really good. So once the, the coin, once the chain swap is completed and people have their new coins, right. What other enhancements or innovations. Can you think of that. The noir coin team will build out and add to noir coin in the
next maybe let's say year. Yeah. That's a good question. We will release. We're carrying payments in the Android wallet with the new chain. That's what we will have right from the start. And a new privacy protocol. Maybe. We are thinking maybe of the lanterns, which hero already already uses right now. Maybe also something for the voting process on blockchain. That's some things I'm thinking of right
now for the future. I'm always looking at what people are saying and the questions that people are asking. And I am always amazed and happy at the responsiveness from the team. I posted a question because I recently converted over from Linux to Mac about how I can drop my wallet that that file. Where it was. And you guys got back to me really, really quickly. So
I really appreciate that. And I'm saying that because I know that people ask for a lot of the noir coin team in terms of enhancements, features, and development. And I know that you guys are very, very, very responsive. So to hear that answer really reminds me of the questions that are asked and requests that are made in the discord for enhancements and features and to know
that it's on top of your mind and that you're thinking about it. So really good thing, man. It's. It should really make the noir coin community very happy knowing that you guys are actually listening to what they want and actively working to providing, you know, to provide those features. So. How can we as a community help you? What does flow need from us to help you
to develop and create these features that we've been asking for? Well, tea. This way. So help is to actively participate on testing faces like we have right now. And also giving feedback. If we kind of feedback is welcome. If it's something we make good. If it's something we could do better. We would like to hear it because that's how we can do things better for everyone.
Good. Now I know you are the technical resource, right? So I know that I can ask you all things technical about noir. But a couple of months ago, we had a conversation about how exchanges felt about the chain swap. Do you have it? Can you provide any updates on whether or not the exchanges that noir currently sits on will accept the new chain swap or is
that a question for not a wizard? I think I can answer. Let's do. I know that GraviEx will support this. Well, fine Xbox, I think, would require a new listing fee and some others didn't respond. But I think GraviEx and fine Xbox are our two biggest exchanges right now. So they are the most important. And GraviEx is supporting it without any new listing. That's amazing. Yes,
that's amazing. Shout out to GraviEx. We appreciate you guys. Thank you so much. We are, and I say we because I consider myself a part of the community. We are not a big project like some of the others. And the noir coin team is bootstrapping this project, trying to produce a product that's good for the community and for everyone. And to hear that they are active
participants and willing to assist makes it really, makes it really, really good, man. I think that's a beautiful thing. Now, in the past, I have used BISC to purchase noir coins. Will BISC also accept the new chain? Or is there something different that needs to be done there? That's a bit different because they are open source. So I can just make a pull request on the
repository. And they will check it and probably merge it. So no costs just a little bit of work for me. But nothing big. Awesome. I think that they will support it too. Very good. I like decentralized exchanges, especially exchanges like BISC where there is an application that's installed on a user's system. That connects with other systems to manage the order book. I think those types of
applications really speak to the decentralization that we strive to achieve. And noir and Bitcoin and in cryptocurrency as a whole. Are there any other exchanges, not like Gravy X or Phoenix box that noir coin would be open. To maybe listing their coin on. I have a friend shout out to Arlen Cole, which he is such a good dude. I need to reach out to him. He
is a developer and co founder of Block DX. I would love to see noir coin on Block DX if possible. And if I could facilitate that, I would do that. Would do you think you guys will be open to that? That is for sure possible. I think we are already supported. In the current co-volute. And I also bought some there some time ago. And I think
the latest update is supported. Good. I hope we can get support for the new co-volute too. But there is something we would need to schedule. Right. In the next weeks, because after the testing, we will start to schedule everything for the exchanges and explorers. Must anode monitoring services. Okay. Good. So we know where we are today in terms of testing. Can you provide a rough timeline
on how long it will take for us to get from where we are? To the day when? Noir will be on the new chain and people will be able to start swapping their coins from the old chain to the new chain. I think the testing process lasts until July 5th. At least if everything goes as planned. That I hope will go. But who knows? Okay. And
then we will start to schedule everything for the exchanges. I think it's important that the exchanges do the swap pretty soon. Because without them, nobody can buy nor. And so the new chain would. And we will not have any of. So that would be bad. And as everything else, like the explorers, we are building one ourselves. So that's not a big problem. I think maybe a
month after the testing phase is complete. We could. See. Already. Good. In August, I think it could be used already. Good. Very, very good. Very, very good. Okay. This is exciting. For me. Yeah. I mean, you know, it's very exciting for me. I have followed other projects in the space. And the past. I have worked for other projects in this space in the past. And what
Noir is doing is really kind of exciting to me. It resonates with me because you guys aren't trying to do anything but be great. You're not promising the world to people. You're not, you know, like these other projects, they're probably, you know, promise a thousand percent return on their investment. And they're rug pool in the last minute. You guys are just. Constantly working to build a
good product. And you have my utmost respect, my friend, my hats off to you. Well, I think the time will pay us back because I think we are a project that. Is right now, not in the best shape of. Financial. In the financial way, but. We are still here. Yes. Once people notice that, I think it could be good for us. Indeed. I mean, we cannot
deliver. Technical changes that fast because. We're, we have not the biggest team, but we try our best. Yes. And that really means something. That really means something. It's the people that build in bear markets. It's the people that build. When times are tough in terms of resource and labor allocation. In terms of financial capability and ability. It's those people who continue to build. Who reap the
rewards. And I feel like. No, I is going to have it stay in the sun. And I'm looking forward to watching the sun shine on the. And then a walk away team in community. So again, my friend, my hats off to you. Thank you. Some of you. I'm going to ask you a question. I want to be able to accept. No, I'm going on my website
for cigars. I own a business called cigar recon. And I sell cigars. And I have looked at a number, a number of payment providers. And I've settled on one coin payments. But they do not accept. The walk away. Is there any resource you can point to me to or any assistance you can give me. To accept. No walk away on my website for cigars. I think.
Uh, we've got coin payments. I think the listing fee is pretty high. Yes, it is. Yeah. I just looked at it again. It's 10,000 euros. For the first year. Right. That's more than we have right now. Right for the development fund. I think the electron wallet has some integration for websites. Okay. But I have not looked into it. Until now. Okay. I just have read something
some time ago. Right. So then I'll look, I'll look to see what I can do about using the electron wallet. For my website. Um, I believe in the project. If you want to, we can, we could do it together. That sounds good, my friend. I believe in the project. And I believe that cryptocurrency is best used when there are use cases for it. That's true. And
I can provide a use case. Yeah. That would be great. That would be your first use case. Yeah. I can provide a use case. So let's talk offline about that. I'll reach out to you in this court. And we can begin discussions on how to make that work. I'm so that we can integrate that on my website. Because I think that would be amazing. That's true.
I think so too. All right. So, Flo, is there anything else that you want to share with the community? Did that. Uh, that's right. No. I think. That's all. Okay. Good. What's the weather there like in Germany, my friend? Actually, I'm in Austria. Oh, you're in Austria. Okay. Yeah. Uh, yeah. The weather is pretty hot. Wow. Uh, yeah. Sun is shining every day. Yeah. That's great.
If you have to book every day for eight hours a day, it's hard. Yeah. With no air conditioning. Oh, wow. Flat. It's. Oh, wow. Yeah. Well, my friend, I want to wish you well. I want to take a moment to thank you for joining me today. And I look forward to having you back and discussing future updates on the warcoin. Thank you. I would love to
come back to you. That sounds great. Ladies and gentlemen, Flo, lead developer of the new warcoin team. I want you to have an amazing evening. I wish you to you too.
