this is the step pyramid at zakara which we're going to be entering underground after we walk through this site here is a dynastic complex made of limestone very fine limestone so the step pyramid at Sakara which is the oldest dynastic pyramid but not the oldest pyramid the diagnostic people entered this land they saw the great panel and they said we want to replicate that but they
couldn't so they had to build this out of rougher material in different levels but we are going to go underground through the tunnel system at this complex in one hour okay we're at the deepest level we can get to under the step pyramid at Sakara and this area there are many artifacts from pre-dynastic times it remains ancient plates and bowls made out of very hard materials
foreign wow that's really incredible it goes all the way through it's beautiful yeah and then that one oh look at that green almost so between thirty thousand and forty thousand of these were found stashed on purpose underneath the step pyramid it's the car there are many more pieces off of the back there and on the outside there are many more that are actually bulldozed to get
rid of the evidence [Music] oh there's a big pile of pieces in behind and as I said others were bulldozed that were out in front of the northern entrance and here we have our machinist with us exactly the same problems we're fighting today I mean the fact that there's a little dimple on the center point it's it's exactly what we're always fighting and machining when you
get get the tool down to the center point yeah it's called the zero rotation point where they're technically right at the center original rotation so the material just chips off steel aluminum it really is so flat bottom like this we we always fight that you know it's always a pain in the butt and they got it too you know to get that little dimple out that
little dimple yeah it's just the material chips because it's technically not spinning right in the center or not spinning fast enough okay here we have a double drill hole it doesn't even seem to be around them it looks like it's an oval the two interconnecting notice the glow of the stone itself could be an alabaster but it's amazing to be here it definitely Narrows it's the
lowest level we can access under the step pyramid the Sakara but we are way underground here lots of side rooms and tunnels this goes on and on and on CE so that's where the box is yes two of them okay great now I'm just supposed ouch a large Alabaster [Music] coffin slash box so now we're gonna go see this Alabaster Box here's the lid of one
which is broken we'll see examples of these in the Cairo Museum tomorrow but this is in situ ation [Music] so I actually saw I'm at the bottom of the step pyramid of Sakara at least 130 feet on the ground and this is another shaft that went down even farther and who knows it could just keep going and going and going what an incredible experience thanks to
Horse Rising tours and select Egypt which is our tour the Couture company we work with all right this tunnel after tunnel after tunnel after tunnel okay continuing through the tunnel system under it's got pyramid and Sakara okay where's the where's the ladder ladder okay okay now we're heading out of the tunnel system underneath the pyramid of Jose in Egypt the famous step pyramid that's a vast
underground system tunnels nobody down climbing up and out of the tunnel system shafts and tunnels thank you foreign [Music] [Music]
